From the Panther Cabin and the Koala Cabin

Dear Mom and Dad:

We love you.  Thank you for helping with our diabetes and making sure we all eat healthy foods.  And, despite having a chronic disease, we really like that it is manageable and we have good doctors taking care of us.

We like learning about diabetes and helping out, but sometimes wish we didn’t have to go with our siblings to make sure they don’t go low.  We sometimes don’t like how we feel when we get low and our brothers and sisters don’t like how we act when we are low.  But we like the snacks.  At the same time, we don’t like having to stop doing things to test and eat snacks.  We’d rather be playing basketball and baseball.

We don’t like that our brothers and sisters have to take shots everyday.

We wish you would let us make more decisions regarding our diabetes.
